Inauguration of Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the magnificent Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant dedication to national service and inspirational leadership. The inauguration coincided with the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose life and ideals are the central focus of the memorial complex.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister described the Sthal as a “permanent national asset” destined to inspire future generations toward selfless leadership and good governance. The project, constructed at an approximate cost of 230 crore, spans an expansive 65 acres. It is envisioned as a landmark complex dedicated to fostering leadership values, cultural consciousness, and public inspiration.

A Tribute to Visionary Leaders

The Rashtra Prerna Sthal stands as a profound symbol of India’s enduring political and cultural ethos. Its architectural and design elements pay homage to the stalwarts who shaped the nation’s journey.

A key highlight of the complex is the installation of three imposing 65-feet-high bronze statues of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. These statues symbolically represent their seminal contributions to India’s political thought, dedication to nation-building, and profound impact on public life.

State-of-the-Art Lotus Museum

The complex also features a state-of-the-art museum, designed in the distinctive and symbolically resonant form of a lotus-shaped structure. Spread over approximately 98,000 square feet, the museum is not merely a repository of history but an immersive educational experience.

Utilizing advanced digital and immersive technologies, the museum meticulously showcases India’s national journey, emphasizing the collective and individual contributions of these visionary leaders. Visitors will be able to engage with the nation’s history through interactive exhibits, offering an educational and deeply engaging experience that underscores the ideals of democracy, national integrity, and public service.

Fostering National Inspiration

In his address, PM Modi emphasized that the inauguration of the Rashtra Prerna Sthal is a crucial step in preserving and promoting the ideals of selfless leadership and ethical governance championed by figures like Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He urged the public, especially the youth, to visit the complex to draw inspiration from the sacrifices and philosophical contributions of the leaders honoured here.

The establishment of the Sthal in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh and the city historically connected with many of these political figures, further cements its role as a major national pilgrimage site for those seeking to understand the foundations of modern Indian public life. The Prime Minister concluded by stating that the complex is not just a memorial, but a vibrant centre for civic education and national awakening.
